Special Rapporteur on violence against women, its causes and consequences

 

The 2006 report E/CN.4/2006/61 of the Special Rapporteur to the Commission on Human Rights focuses on the due diligence standard, as provided for in the Declaration on the Elimination of Violence against Women. Article 4(c) of that instrument provides States shall “ Exercise due diligence to prevent, investigate and, in accordance with national legislation, punish acts of violence against women, whether those acts are perpetrated by the State or by private persons.”

The Special Rapporteur requested all governments to submit to her information for the preparation of the report on the basis of the following questionnaire.
