International Standards

Eliminating poverty and promoting human rights are inter-related objectives voiced by many international treaties and commitments. The persistence of extreme poverty and of violations of civil, cultural, economic, political, and social rights are mutually reinforcing. Consequently, a wide range of human rights standards are relevant for the mandate of the independent expert. See below a non-exhaustive list of some key standards and commitments.
