Call for contribution to the study on the Right of Indigenous Peoples to education

Pursuant to Human Rights Council resolution 9/7, the Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples is requested to prepare a study on lessons learned and challenges to achieve the implementation of the right of indigenous peoples to education and to conclude it in 2009.

As requested by the Expert Mechanism, the OHCHR is kindly asking indigenous peoples organizations, Member States, relevant international and regional organizations, relevant UN agencies, national human rights institutions and civil society organizations to submit, by 20 February 2009, information pertaining to achieving the implementation of the rights of indigenous peoples to education. For this purpose, the experts have prepared a guide for providing information.
