Resolutions of the Commission on Human Rights and General Assembly on internally displaced persons

The Commission on Human Rights has adopted annual resolutions on internally displaced persons (IDPs) and frequent resolutions on “Human rights and mass exodus” concerning both IDPs and refugees. Similarly, the General Assembly has passed frequent resolutions on IDPs and on mass exodus. These resolutions are listed below.

Both the Commission and the General Assembly have also passed many resolutions on other topics that are relevant to IDPs. In 2005, the Office of the High Commissioner produced a thematic compilation (E/CN.4/2005/80/Add.1) of resolutions and reports to the Commission on Human Rights relevant to refugees and IDPs from 1994-2004.
