At its 48th session (May 2012), the committee identified States parties whose reports fall due in 2014 and are eligible for the optional reporting procedure. Subsequently, the Committee requested States parties that have not yet accepted the procedure, to indicate, by 1 September 2012, if they would avail themselves of this optional procedure, in order for the Committee to prepare and submit ther respective list of issues, in case they opt to report under it.

Reminders were sent to the relevant States parties that have not yet accepted the procedure nor submit the overdue report.

At its 49th session, (November 2012), the Committee adopted LOIPR for those States that have accepted to report under this procedure for reports due in 2014.
